When Caitlin and Johny enquired about getting hitched in Port Douglas, they were concerned that being interstate, would make it difficult to create the perfect wedding. I assured them that long distance planning is not an issue, as most of the weddings in Port Douglas are destination weddings and our vendors up here are so awesome that distance is not a problem!
We discussed their ideas over the phone, made more plans by email and dropped a few Skype calls into the mix, so by the time they came to Port Douglas for their elopement, it was like catching up with old friends. They made their way from Victoria with an exclusive posse of pals to share the moment and couldn’t have been more chilled about saying those vows. The relationship Caitlin and Johny have is equal, their love relaxed and their lives together are filled with fun, respect and a mutual love for their crazy kids! I see two people who have it all figured out, the ease with which they approach their lives together is a gift to be treasured and they have no idea just how lucky they are.
As they prepared for the ceremony, the two of them chilled out, had fun and wrangled their kids into their outfits before heading down to Little Cove. Johny arrived first with the boys and Caitlin arrived soon after with her Bride Tribe, she sauntered into the cove to the tune of “This Old Love” by Lior and she danced her way to the man she was about to call her husband. During the ceremony, Caitlin beamed and Johny smiled the smile of the man who got the girl! We held our breath as they said their vows and made those promises and then as they kissed their first kiss as Husband and Wife, their boys grappled in for a group hug and then adjourned to the hammock for a relaxing moment after signing their paperwork.
Kind words from Caitlin & Johny
Stephanie really tuned into what we want and she was available to meet with us. She was flexible, down to earth and kept it simple!
