A Wedding Ceremony in Port Douglas

Hello my name is Stephanie Milne and I am a Port Douglas Marriage Celebrant and Civil Partnership Notary. I am very lucky to live and work in Port Douglas, helping couples to create their perfect wedding memory in and around the Port Douglas Region and the Great Barrier Reef.

A tropical wedding is always a truly memorable event. Beautiful Port Douglas is located just north of Cairns, in Far North Queensland. Port Douglas and it's surrounding areas are filled with amazing locations, it is no suprise that it is such a popular wedding choice for visitors from Australia and all over the world.

Whether you are planning an intimate elopement or an extravagant wedding involving all your family and friends, Port Douglas has a location to suit you. From the beautiful Daintree Rainforest and spectacular 4 Mile Beach to St Mary's by The Sea Chapel, beautiful private houses and luxury resorts; there are an endless selection of locations for your special day.

Whichever your choice may be, I can be there to assist in whatever way I possibly can. The tropics can be an unpredictable place for a wedding, so it is important to choose a reliable and flexible celebrant, someone who can assist in a practical manner should the need arise. I only perform one ceremony per day, which allows me to be more flexible and devote as much time as required to each couple.

I would love to assist you to create your perfect ceremony, it is such a privilege to be a part of such an important event. Your ceremony should be an individual reflection of you and your relationship, a personal moment you will remember always. I would love to write a unique ceremony for you, tailoring it to your own special personalities and requirements.

Marriage Proposal Traditions

During Medieval times in Europe, a man would propose marriage to his beloved, by leaving a hawthorn branch at her door on the first of May.

If his intended left the branch at the door she had accepted his proposal, if she was declining his intentions then she would replace the hawthorn branch with a cauliflower.
